you know you want them:
One mower and one gas trimmer for $20? What’s the catch? Well, they’re like brothers, so I’d really like to get rid of them together.
The mower (20” deck with ridiculously oversized rear-wheels) always started on the first pull until today when the pull-cord broke in half and whipped itself up into the little hole it comes out of. According to the guys at Depot, it’s an easy fix - and I’ll even throw in the new cord they sold me- but damn if I could make sense of it. You might want to buy a new air filter, but I discovered it’s much louder and therefore manlier without the thing. It’s been running for two years without one, so I guess I don’t get the point of the air filter. You might also want to replace the mulch plug, which I lost after some Depot guy told me mulching doesn’t work in Colorado because there’s not enough rain. I’ve got to stop listening to the guys at Depot. Anyway, if you want to mulch it seems to do the same thing without the plug, so I’m not sure I get the point of the plug either.
The trimmer is a Sears model - easy light or something like that - that also worked great until I screwed up the oil/gas mixture and “bumped” the string housing too hard. Seems like a handy guy (or gal!) could replace the gas, buy themselves a new spool of string, and go to town on their edgings and weeds.
It would be nice to get $20 for the pair - but I really just want them gone - so I’d probably just give them to the first person with a good story or a decent six-pack.
p.s. I’m not taking the time to post a picture either. Close your eyes, picture a mower and a trimmer. Ta Da!
