Daily Haiku Recap Redux

So, it’s not always “e” daily, but it is daily. Okay, it’s not even always daily. I try. I also often question the purpose of the exercise.

July 13
EJ plays pitcher
tosses one straight to first base
then falls down, laughing

July 12
four hours pool-side
organizing my fly-box
ignoring the din

July 11
downtown Littleton
McKinner’s black olive pie
and a wheat beer

July 10
there are certain days
where I want to be alone
this is one of them

July 9
contentious, petty
this meeting’s not the fourth grade
is not personal

July 6
This day, apparently, is lost to memory. It’s a Monday though, after a holiday weekend, so no great loss.

July 5
This day, too. I’m guessing the pool.

July 4
red streamers on spokes
cans steams behind red wagons
neighbors wave hello

July 3
a crack and a boom
red lights fill the dark-blue sky…
…lights up our faces

July 2
Hmm. I got nothing.

July 1
Umm…the first day of the month. Sorry, don’t remember
